Let’s Talk Routine [Self-Care] ๐Ÿง–๐Ÿฝโ€โ™€๏ธ

Hello- with the start of a new month I wanted to talk about getting into a routine or maintaining the one you have. I believe the key to seeing results in any area of life is to stay consistent. I’m going to share a few things that help me- SO let’s talk routine and what a healthy self-care schedule can do!

Fitness:

When it comes to fitness I have tried many different workouts and schedules. Honestly, it is trial and error until you find what works best for you and your body type. I have been doing pilates for a little over 2 months now and I LOVE it. I feel amazing after and if anyone says it’s too easy of a workout or you might not sweat enough [I dare you to try a class ๐Ÿ˜‰]. For pilates I do Melissa Wood Tepperberg’s online pilate classes and she is the best with incorporating breath work and has such a bubbly personality.

I do pilates 6 days a week. You do not have to do that to see results. I just genuinely love doing her workouts and get excited to roll my mat out each day so I do 6 days. I will say I love to workout in the mornings- I just feel better about my day. ๐Ÿ™‚

If you follow me on Instagram [@ Emileerachelle_ or HERE] you already know the second workout I do all the time… it’s WALKING. I love taking walks almost everyday. I try to do at least 30 minutes, but honestly if I have a coffee before hand [an iced shaken espresso w/ soy and 2 pumps peppermint to be exact] I will go longer- lol.

My approach with fitness changed. I started looking at it in a way where I just want to move my body everyday and do what feels good for me. The best way for me to be consistent with fitness is to do things I actually enjoy! Speaking of things I enjoy- I am not going to lie I can easily spend 30 minutes dancing in front of the mirror too… okay SO now you know one of my secrets. If I’m not answering your text- there’s a good chance I am dancing as if I am in a Step Up movie!

*TIP

If you find it hard to stay consistent with working out- try setting small goals like getting a work out in 1-2 times a week for 20-30 minutes. Take a walk at your favorite park, play tag with your kids, or have a dance party around the house. I have seen people take items around the house, like a can of vegetables for an arm workout! Remember we are going for consistency and setting up a routine-have fun and get creative.

Spiritual:

I know sometimes life can get busy and we feel like we don’t have time to spend with God. We all have had those seasons- So no judgement here. I can say, I notice a huge difference in my life when I’m reading my bible daily and praying vs when I am not. I have had conversations with many people who say things along the lines of, “The bible is so big and I don’t know which book to begin in.” It can be overwhelming, but my papa gave me a women’s daily bible that sets you up to finish the bible in a year.

The daily bible I use is HERE. I find it easier to dive into because it goes in and lays out your reading for the day and you don’t have to decide which book to read. It goes in order, but for one day it gives you the Old testament, New testament, a Pslam, and Proverb. I always recommend doing this to people!

If you have your regular bible, try praying before hand and ask God to reveal where He wants you to read. This has also been helpful for me. To be consistent in the word- it can help to have a physical bible by your bed also praying that God would help you have that desire and get rid of the distractions.

WHO YOU SURROUND YOURSELF WITH

I am not advising that you start cutting people out of your life, but have a God-fearing community/group of friends that pull you closer to God can make such a difference in your life. I actually have a blog post coming out this month about community/friends! You can hold each other accountable and do bible studies together. It is another outlet of your life to stay plugged in to God!

Praying

Staying consistent with prayer is another healthy practice to develop and maintain. Prayer looks different for everyone and you do not have to do it the same way every time. If you feel like you are very busy, try praying in the car when you are driving to work or school. I like what Joyce Meyer says, “Pray before you even roll out of bed to prepare yourself for the day.” routine self-care

For me, I have prayers and conversations with God throughout the day. Get into the practice of being honest with God, not what you think you should say or be feeling.

*Prayer to help desire the word:

Lord, thank you for the opportunity to have access to your living word. God I ask that you help me have a desire to learn from you and crave your word. Father help me to remove any distractions that keep me away from you. In Jesus name, Amen.

Bodycare Routine

When it comes to my body care routine read, Full Body Skincare Routine.

Staying Organized โ˜บ๏ธ

I love organization, so a planner is a must for me. I like to take Sunday evenings and plan out my week. Writing it down helps me stay on track to achieve my goals and deadlines. routine self-care

These are just some things that help me. I hope you get inspired and start or continue implementing healthy routines in all areas of your life. It’s a new month, go after it!
