Meet Emilee
Hello and welcome! I’m Emilee, the face behind Compassion Inspires. I am a dreamer, let’s start there! I have always believed you can achieve anything you put your mind to. Over the past few years, I have struggled to figure out my purpose in this big world like many of you. Growing close to God, He has revealed that to me. So here I am! You can learn about why I started this blog, here.
Finding My Purpose
Being in college I genuinely felt unfulfilled, asking myself, “Is this really what you want?” Deep down, I knew this was not my calling. I was terrified of ending up at a job where I would be unhappy and ultimately ‘stuck’ in. Eventually, I started doing some deep self-reflection while trying to find my passions. I am very passionate about spreading the gospel and I have always loved expressing myself through fashion.
I have used fashion as a creative outlet ever since I was a little girl and my mother first took me into Limited Too [if you know, you know]. When I was younger my dream was to become a fashion designer. Any school project that involved writing a biography, you can believe Gabrielle Bonheur “Coco” Chanel was my choice.
Unfortunately, I took a textiles class and quickly realized not only was I bad at drawing, but I could not sew to save my life. I went from wanting to be a fashion designer, to an attorney, having a career in marketing/ sales, well to this! I enjoy putting looks together and giving people inspiration. Aside from fashion, you will find faith based posts on here too.
My Why
My relationship with Jesus is a big aspect of who I am and why this is even coming together. I see the loneliness, brokenness, and unfulfillment in the world, which inspired me to encourage and share hope with others. You can find more about these topics here .
Rather you are here for fashion advice, encouragement, or a shoulder to cry on after a hard life moment, I hope you leave here with a new perspective that leaves you feeling a little less alone and a little more okay.
I am really excited to bring you on this journey with me. Not only am I able to do something I love, but I get to help people at the same time. In life, I believe with each lesson you learn, you should teach it to someone else [thanks, Denzel Washington].
with love, Emilee
My mission in life is not merely to survive, but to thrive; and to do so with some passion, some compassion, some humor, and some style.”
